In the United States, more than 75% of prosecutors are white. A mere 5.6% are black, but only 1% are Black women. Despite this small number, Black women prosecutors are not only leading some of the most prolific work in our country but being purposely attack at extreme rates. Today, Chantel Mullen and I will discuss this phemmomia and provide information about how Black women can support these amazing and courageous women, like Marilyn Mosby, Fani Willis, Monique Worrell and many others.

As Black women gain recognition in highly visible positions, they are faced with various misconceptions that impact their life. When entering visible positions or running for office, black women have to not only work against racial and gendered misconceptions but also present themselves in a relatable way. The balancing act puts high-levels of stress on black women that do not exist for other candidates. We’ll discuss those misconceptions and ways to fairly evaluate their candidacy. Holli L. Holliday, Esq. serves as the president of Sisters Lead Sisters Vote (SLSV), a 501(c) 4 organization. In this role, she works to expand Black women’s leadership, voices & politics. Holli has managed or advised over 300 campaigns, served an non-profit executive and attorney.. As a diversity, equity & inclusion professional, she is at her best when connecting people and transforming spaces to embrace diverse leadership and foster an authentic sense of belonging. .She is a sought after expert for local and national media, like NPR, Washington Post, MSNBC and more.
Chantel Mullen
Chantel D. Mullen is an attorney licensed in Arkansas and Georgia with more than 20 years in the areas of law, politics, and education. She is also the principal of Mullen Associates LLC, and the co-author of My Legacy Personal Planning Portfolio: Leaving a Legacy Instead of Leaving A Mess which is available on Amazon. She is the Director of Special Projects for Sisters Lead Sisters Vote, a C4 advocacy group focused on building the political power of Black women by amplifying their voices on issues important to the Black community.
Simone Henderson
Simone Henderson is the founder and lead strategist of Phase One Strategies LLC. Simone has gathered years of experience in executive operations and strategic communications consulting with thought leaders, political and non-profit organizations, and the federal government. In addition, Simone serves in the White House as an Advance Associate for President Biden and Vice President Harris, executing event logistics for official and political events across the United States and abroad.
Simone received her Bachelor of Arts from Hanover College in Political Communications and her Master of Professional Studies from George Washington’s Graduate School of Political Management in Strategic Public Relations.
